Xavier Marrades is a filmmaker born in Barcelona in 1979. He graduated from the School of Visual Arts (New York) with the support of a fellowship from la Caixa de Pensions.

 Since his first years at the University Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) he has been focusing on the experimental side of filmmaking. His works are primarly documentary and music video pieces, as he also has a strong musical background and sensibility.

 “The Stranger’s Land” is his first feature length documentary. It was mostly shot and edited by himself  during a five-month stay in his hometown, Cervera (Spain) with a HDV cam.
